The Social Safety of Catalunya Caixa supports habitat improvement project control and removal of allochthonous fish in the Ivars i Vila-sana, and the University of Lleida and the Consortium Pond Ivars i Vila-sana. This is a pilot project to evaluate a proposed system to perform control actions and removal of allochthonous fish in the pond. The trial also aims to verify the evolution of the lake habitat in areas where there is the disruptive effect of these invasive species, such as carp.

The tent is a cyprinid that inhabited the old pond that spread across much of the continental waters of Catalonia last 50 years. Currently, due to uncontrolled releases at the beginning of the filling, it has become the dominant species of the fish community of the lake. The tent creates a major problem for the water system, especially during the spring and early summer, for his habit of constantly removing clay or silty bottom, generating a lot of turbidity in the water starts macrophytes or aquatic plants and promotes an increase in eutrophic water.
